Whistler

We went on a last minute get-away with some friends to Whistler this week. What fun. Anyone want to join us in a Whistler retirement? Perhaps a shared vacation cabin?

Sun, good food, swimming, and our bikes are there in the background somewhere...doesn't get much better than this. We shared lots of memories along the way of our trip last year with Grandma and Grandpa and Aunt Holly, Uncle Adam, and Evan. (Elsa, this is the place with the park where I bumped my head on the concrete water toy. Here's the trail where Evan was pinching you in the stroller. Tee hee.)

I can't get over this place! We visited three lakes. They got successively warmer - the first one was fed by a glacier I think but the one in this picture, Alta Lake, was PERFECT.

Now, back to the grind. Oh, wait! We still have a month of vacation!!!

We had a hot dog roast (we thought you had to sit still for an awfully long time to get those dogs hot),

and finally we helped Grandma open her birthday gifts. Happy birthday, Grandma!

We fled to Grandma and Grandpa's air-conditioned-by-the-sea-breeze house last week after we tired of running through the sprinkler.

Dani, Janie, Mary, Nicole, Jenny - We wish you could have been there. Here are some of Elsa's highlights from the annual Leavenworth-girls' meet the babies:

Elsa and Evan got along all weekend (okay, that one is really Holly and Katy's highlight!) Here they are walking to the pool together:

The frog slide was everything Abby said it would be. That might be her waiting to come down next.

Marina had the kids parading, singing patriotic songs, and waving their flags for the cows on the 4th. The cows were a very subdued audience.

We took a nice walk along the river.

It took a while to get home, but this was one of the fun stops we made along the way. Choo choo!

We ended up at the water park today after a bike ride that started out on a c-o-l-d gray day, but ended up on a nice sunny day.
 (By the way, did y'all know I'm riding solo-ish on my new tag-a-long these days?)

I had more fun in my clothes than I've ever had in my bathing suit!
