We're looking at buying a way too expensive house that fronts the wetlands on this beach. So the question is, do we want to work full time for the next 30 years while we pay off the mortgage? On days like this, the beach is pretty hard to beat...

Snowshoe Adventures II

Welcome to the second annual winter fun weekend for the R. sisters and their families. (Check out last year's blog, same weekend, for some nostalgia). 

 

Evan and I kept busy sledding and playing, playing and sledding. We got so brave that we went down alone!

Mommy took me skiing and quickly found out that this summer I will have to hike on my own two feet. 

The snow wasn't the best for snowshoeing, but look at how much fun we all had anyway! Three cheers for extra socks, two pairs of gloves, and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches!

Learning to Swim

Elsa loves her swim lessons. We go to the pool a lot but she's never put her face in the water willingly for me!

Coming up after grabbing a pink ring off the bottom. I asked Elsa what she does about breathing when she puts her face under the water and she said "I don't." (Duh, Mom.)

Hey, this makes a pretty good bracelet!

I love Elsa's teacher. Though I've never met her, she's smiling and completely engaging Elsa in almost every picture Grandpa took of her. Today the other 2 boys in her class didn't show so Elsa got a private lesson. (And proud Grandpa didn't miss a second of the action - thanks for taking pictures so we can all share in the joy of preschool swim lessons!)

Happy New Year!

After reading a book called Teach Me Everyday Spanish (volume 1) and listening to the accompanying CD for several hours, Elsa decided that she is 8 years old, just like the girl pictured in the book. Notice how similar their outfits are?

ALL of Elsa's grandparents came over for dinner last night. Elsa determined that she and Grandma R. look like "cuteness" in this picture.

Mommy and Aunt Holly got together with friends from their college days. Look at all those good looking kids! (Note especially the one on the far left in Jamie's lap.)
