REAL hiking. Wow.

Elsa hiked most of the way up to Oyster Dome today - that's no small feat. She hiked about 3 miles on a pretty strenuous trail and only rode piggyback up the final very steep ascent to the view point. She was tired on the way down and opted to fall asleep on my back. (Have you ever tried hiking with a sleeping kid on your back that's not holding on? It's like wearing a 40 pound bag of concrete on your waist.) THIS is summer!

You are amazing Elsa! My mommy thought it was quite a workout to push 45+ lbs (me) in a stroller while carrying 14 lbs (Kate) in the frontpack around Green Lake. Maybe next time I'll be willing to walk/scooter instead of ride! Mommy hopes...
