So I am not into politics yet, but daddy has been talking about the national debt. Its something that most people probably read in the newspaper and quickly forget. Its easy for daddy's generation to overlook; you are enjoying a higher standard of living and more government services than you are paying for. My generation will be paying a much higher percentage of our taxes to interest accrued on your spending. One would think that those who represent us, those with children and grandchildren, would tax and spend in a responsible manner. Think of it this way, you don't want to leave your children saddled with personal debt accumulated due to your highly consumptive lifestyle, so why do you act like this as a country of adults?
It doesn't make any sense... your congressional representatives cut taxes, pass more appropriations, then come home and brag about their [irresponsible] actions to their consituents. That is a very disturbing cycle of events.
Current Debt
[Note: Although daddy has discussed the national debt issue with Elsa, The above opinion is filtered through Daddy's eyes. If you support the deficit spending policies of your representatives, please don't hold the above view against Elsa.]
