So, just before prayers tonight, Elsa and Daddy had the following interaction:
Elsa: "I love you"
Daddy: "You love your bear?"
E: "Yeah"
D: "Do you love daddy?"
E: "Yeah"
D: "Do you love your mommy?"
E: "Yeah... she's nice... [unintelligible]"
D: "What Elsa? Take your binky out"
E: [unintelligible]
D: "What did you say Elsa?"
E: "She's cozy"
D: "She's cozy?"
E: "Cozy"
Elsa spilled mommy's ice water at a restaurant recently. She then got a bit upset.
Mommy: "What's wrong Elsa?"
E: "Elsa's sad"
M: [reassured E that it was okay]
Mommy thinks this is the first time she has identified an emotion verbally, although she has gotten upset with herself for making mistakes before.
