3 year old gorilla clings to her mother
(These images were inspired by the baby gorilla born at the Smithsonian National Zoo yesterday. To view similar footage of a newborn gorilla, view Video of Mother and Newborn.)
Very impressive, Aunt Katy. You have a strong back! --Evan This reminds me of a few years ago when another baby gorilla was born at the Smithsonian National Zoo. I went to see it and was amazed at how the family dynamics were much the same as a human family (3 y/o running around poking at 5 y/o brother, mom nursing newborn and occasionally swiping at 3 and 5 y/o, dad hanging out not really participating in the childcare). OK, so we don't have husbands like the daddy gorilla, but still, it was very human-like. --Fun Aunt Holly
